Design update and General Meeting Dates
Front Room 2010's first general meeting had a fantastic turn out with lots of new faces at the Oxford Pub on the 8th June. At the meeting we opened up with a design competition to find the creative concepts for this year's trail website and publicity material and after a great response and some deliberation we elected on the new design from Tim Ruffle.
Tim has lived in Totterdown with his wife for 3 years. He loves Totterdown and it's great sense of community. As a freelance Illustrator and animator he has never taken part in the Arts Trail before and so is excited to be involved with the design of the tenth anniversary trail.
Tim studied Graphic Design at Bower Ashton, since leaving in 2000 has worked in the animation industry in Bristol. He's currently represented at Aardman as a 2D Animation Director. "I'm always illustrating for clients to briefs so i'm looking forward to creating something a bit different on a personal level for this years trail". So it's with great excitement that we are able to unveil the first design for the 2010 trail.
Some great plans are already coming together for this years trail, our 10th anniversary event, including the usual first night party to be held at the Thunderbolt on Friday the 19th, fantastic children's workshops, music and live entertainment throughout the weekend. We are always on the look out for more ideas and support, so get your thinking caps on and please don't hesitate to contact the Front Room team with any thoughts you may have. Visit www.frontroom.org.uk for more information or to register as an artist, venue or volunteer.
We can't wait to see you all over the weekend of the 19th - 21st November. In the meantime look out for posts on the website and updates locally. Our second general meeting will be held at the Oxford Pub on the 7th September at 7.30pm.

I have read a lot on the subject of Marxist or politically charged arts, and I feel that graffiti is unique as it is a true revolutionary art form
